ABOUT

Since freshman year of high school, I have pursued journalism and storytelling in some fashion or another. Nine years of journalism education offered me the opportunity to engage in my favorite part of the industry: listening to others and learning their stories.

From Rockville High School in Maryland to College Park, from Chicago to Washington, D.C., and Capitol Hill, from southeast Arizona to Puerto Rico, reporting and photographing stories from a vast range of sources taught me the importance of storytelling and the true impact of journalism.

I am currently the education reporter for the Frederick News-Post in Frederick, MD, where I cover Frederick County Public Schools, education policy and higher education. I am a team photographer for the University of Maryland ACHA DII Men's Ice Hockey Team and I am a freelance photographer for the blog Capitals Outsider.

I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's of arts in multimedia journalism in the spring of 2023. At UMD, I completed the International Studies Scholars Program in 2021. I was awarded the 2021 Steve Elkins Fellowship for the Washington Blade where I remotely wrote stories for the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware circulation. I also worked as a copy editor and then as copy chief for the on-campus publication Stories Beneath the Shell. As a senior, I had the opportunity to report on increasing gentrification in the Baltimore area through my capstone project, which was later published in the Baltimore Banner.

In June 2024, I graduated from Northwestern University with my master's of science in journalism. I specialized in politics, policy and foreign affairs and spent nine months reporting on Capitol Hill. Through my political reporting, I honed in on the environmental beat and covered environmental policy and advocacy on the Hill, as well as in Puerto Rico and southeast Arizona, pictured here. My graduate reporting was featured in publications like Inside Climate News, Mother Jones and Grist.

I began shooting for the UMD men's ice hockey team in the fall of 2023. In the summer of 2024, I worked as a sports photography Tim Kurkjian Fellow for the Bethesda Big Train, part of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League in Maryland. I also currently work as a freelance photographer for the Washington Capitals blog, Capitals Outsider.
